The Early Years: Hear From the First Editor of “El Grito” and a member of the first Premio Quinto Sol Selection Committee. Also hear from Quinto Sol staff members and undergraduates from Berkeley at that time.

1:15 to 2:30 – LUNCH with speakers at Faculty CLUB (& sandwishes for
everybody)

The Impact: Hear from leading scholars on the topic of Quinto Sol Publications and the formation of the Chicana/o Identity in print. Also, hear from the Artists whose careers began with the creation of Quinto Sol Publications and El Grito

Xicando: On Our OwnTerms— An Exhibition of Work by Celia Rodriguez, Maceo Montoya, and Malaquias Montoya  

The Exhibition hopes to capture the trajectory of Chicana/o art over the past, present, and into the future. We borrow the phrasing from Alfred Arteaga and Jose Montoya as we move the work of Quinto Sol Publications forward into the next 45 years.
